Case History
The victim was located on December 23, 2002, in a wooded area at the Huntington Stud Farm on Pine Valley Drive, just south of Kirby Sideroad, in north Vaughan. She was found by four hunters walking through a wooded area on the property.
Officers from the Archeological Forensic Recovery Unit conducted a grid search of the area and located further remains. The remains were determined to be those of a young woman.
The cause of death and details about articles of clothing found at the scene are not being made public because they would only be known to the person responsible for Nancy's death. Keeping the information secret may help confirm a suspect in the future.
The remains do not match descriptions of any missing persons during the past three years. Officers poured over nearly 200 pages of missing persons reports in Canada. York police also asked Interpol, a European-based organization of police forces, to check its missing persons files.
Police are not certain about the woman's hair and eye colour.
