Circumstances of Disappearance
Medina was employed as a cannery worker in Stanwood, Washington in 1993. She was married to Cruz Jubenal Carrera. Both Bello-Medina and her husband were citizens of Xochipala in the Mexican state of Guerrero. She was last seen on December 13, 1993, at 9:30 a.m. in the company of Antonio Ordaz-Ortero, 22 years old at that time. Relatives were alerted to her disappearance when Bello-Medina did not pick up her child from a babysitter. Her vehicle was later discovered abandoned in a post office parking lot in Stanwood.
